I swear if you fell in a compost heap you would come out smelling of roses Nige.

If I fell in a barrel of bosoms I'd come out sucking my thumb.

Anyhoo

One of my ultimate goals was to build a 6v bike with the torque arm front brake and one of those motors.

Ok a couple of difficult bits on the motor.

1) they don't have a kick start so I don't know if it's possible to fit one using the 90 parts as they may not match the gears. This would allow you to bin the pull starter and rework the casing poss using the 6V outer cover.

2) The gearbox sprocket is specific as it's a gear spline fit (and ruinously expensive) so I was going to machine off the old teeth and 'button fit' a sprocket on the outside to raise the gearing and give a choice of sprocket sizes. (Button fitting is the same as modern floating disk's are attached on motorcycles). Simple enough on a lathe just machine the splined centre to the same size as the hole in the sprocket then drill through the joint and high tensile bolt together - simple.

They are 12v CDI, and if your missing the carb you can get a reasonable copy from the US complete with 2 input tap - it's about 22mm so similar in size to the Modenas carb.
