Because I am unable to find any explanation why every clutch i've fitted Big Mig slips, I've decided to swap the entire bottom end, in the hope that the problem goes away and gives a clue to this bizarre problem. So a hunt in the shed rewarded me with an unbranded Chinese 110 bottom end. The picture shows the shift pattern, which could easily be mistaken for 12V C90 pattern, but it's not. The 12V C90 cleverly prevents a shift from 3rd to neutral whilst travelling, these Chinese boxes don't and I have had the scary experience of shifting into neutral whilst flat out and then in my confusion shifted into 1st! So my first job is to replace the selector barrel with an ATC70 item.
