They were never an extra. Cubs never had extras.. You got what was given. 
On UK models the C70 was first to get one 1972-77 when C50 and C90 didn't..
Then they disappeared for all the Z2 models, 50, 70 and 90.
..then reappeared on 12 volters until EU safety said no in the 90s.
