I have put chipboard tongue and groove boards on my concrete garage floor base and painted them with floor paint. The chipboard is smoother, warmer and softer to kneel on than bare concrete. It took the floor paint easily and is wearing well after 6 years use. The chipboard boards are the ones used to floor an attic out with.

The colour of my floor is a nice light soft sage green and was obtained by mixing dark green with white and if memory serves me well small amounts of blue and black also. The ratios of the different colours used in the mix were obtained by using teaspoon fulls of paint until the right shade was found, avoiding using large amounts and after a large mix was used up it was easy to replicate this, (eg 5 parts green, 3 white, 1 blue and 1 black - not the real ratios but just an example)

The lovely soft greens in my garage give it a rather splendid ambience, soothing to the mind when mechanical gremlins try to wear me down. It is a nice colour in which to sup ale also. Here is the garage in its virginal state, before I deflowered it with muck and clutter.
