c50 starting problem

my c50 6v would run for about 1/4 of a mile and then cut out and wouldn't start again until left for a bit. i put this down to the coil breaking down when getting hot so i have bought a new coil ( after market brand as honda dont make any more ) and now the bike won't start at al, i have tested the coil off the bike with a 6v power and it will give a spark to the plug but not on the bike, any ideas. thanks kev.
