Spare petrol bottle....?

I want to get myself one of those spare bottles I've seen some of you carrying. In 2010, when I was coming back from Rhayader I very nearly ran out of petrol at one stage and had to make a detour to the nearest Tesco, (it was a Tesco road map I was using) and got there with about 2 miles left in the tank. I don't want that to happen again.
So one of those spare petrol bottles should carry enough to get me easily to the nearest garage methinks.
But what size and make do you recommend?
