My son's Innova has developed a problem. These are parts of the messages he sent me.
"Died
I could hear it wasn't sounding too good over the last few days and fourth gear was actually slowing me down so I had to use third
Last night just north of Ware it started making crunching noises & died, I had to push it half a mile to get off the A10
Waited for the AA but he couldnt get it started....."
"It started off with a constant clicking noise for a few days, I noticed it only clicked when I accelerated though, louder & faster as I picked up speed but if I let go of the accelerator downhill for example there was no clicking, couldn't really tell where it was coming from, never tested it in neutral...."
I've told him to check the oil, drain it and check for metal pieces preferably with a magnet. (Unfortunately he's had to leave the bike away from home so he can't get back to it easily.)
Anyway, another thought of mine was again the oil. He has his done in a shop. Perhaps they put the wrong oil in? Would that cause these symptoms.
And another thing. The battery is probably flat now. Can this bike be started on the kickstart even with a flat battery?
