Hi All,

I did my stand not long ago (thought I had better for France) as it has never worked in the time I've had the bike. Ground the pin off from underneath, didn't remove any parts to do it, then used a 20 ton press to remove it from the stand.

Once everything was clean and painted, I cut the end off a grease nipple (from the front bush kit) and welded it into the brake end of the new pin. Then wound a large bolt into the other end, cut it off and drilled a hole for the retaining pin, and one in the middle for the grease to enter the stand through.

Once it was all painted, I popped it back together (you do have to remove the exhaust to get the pin back in), and wound a bit of wire through where the split pin would go and round the little lug on the frame, so now the pin is fixed.

Now just an exhaust off job to fill the pin with grease! <g>

Much Love

Ric <g>
