Ric's method of blocking up both ends of the pin (assuming it is just a hollow tube) and putting a grease nipple in the brake pedal end, with holes drilled through to the stand and brake pedal, seems best. I did wonder if you could insert the pin the other way round, so that the split pin end, plus a washer, is by the pedal. Then you could insert a nipple at the left hand end and get a gun on it without removing the exhaust.
The other alternative is to insert a nipple in the stand itself. But you need to choose the position very carefully so that it doesn't foul anything and is accessible when the stand is up or down. And you would need to weld a nut to the stand to take the nipple, then drill through it and the pin, as the stand metal is not thick enough to take a nipple direct.
I suppose the simplest method is to grease it well up on assembly and remove the pin/stand every few thousand miles for a regrease.
