Don't remove the tap from the float bowl, the screws will be very tight and you really don't need to.

Before removing the carb, first clean the tap filter by removing the little bowl behind the tap and pulling out the nylon mesh. The bottom of the little bowl will be full of tiny rust particles:

Note the torque setting for the bowl - it's VERY light and don't cross thread it.

Note the number of turns in required on the pilot screw setting 'till it LIGHTLY bottoms out and use this as your reference when rebuilding.

Don't go mad with any of the threads as the metal is not very strong, don't loose the O ring between the carb and the manifold and don't break the float bowl gasket.

When replacing the throttle slide make sure it's the right way around.

Put the jet's and emulsion tube in a tiny jar with some carb cleaner and let them soak whilst you clean up the rest and don't poke anything in the holes.

The rest is straightforwards, squitting carb cleaner around the grubby bits and through the passageways.

Good luck
