Just a quick thanks for the detailed reply and pics Diesel... should have made it easy enough that even I can follow!
I gave it a bash but ended up in frustration! Fairly limited range of tools and yup - 1 o-ring that seems to have gone walk-a-bouts despite your warning! Can't clean a carb, can't read, can't follow instructions, etc 
Will go buy a few more tools this week and make a plan with the o-ring and try it again next weekend! Would hope to get to a rally some time and will have to repay you for your 5am answer with frostie...
