Thanks Barker been looking down that route and not found anything yet.

Sir Klipp, Performance was the same on mine till the 40 miles. She'll give you plenty of warning before she let's go. Tickytacky went clickyclacky for about 100 miles. The last 40 miles had some random losses of power and loud tacktacka thing going on before it stuck solid. Which followed a big loss of power so I was ready on the gear pedal to get the clutch in. In total I've done about 5000miles since the beginning of the noise.

So far I've stripped only the top end. The piston is fully back so only just sticking out of the cases. The big end moves but feels a bit stiff. The engine still won't budge at all though. My money is on a failed main bearing.

When I put a screwdriver to my ear and the cases when the first noise started it did sound like it was coming from the clutch side of the crankcase by the base of the cylinder. Hopefully I'll get the crankcase split over this week so I see exactly what's gone. Would've don it this weekend but I was busy on Saturday and it took me most of Sunday to get the 3 bolts that hold it in undone without damaging them...I must get some decent tools one day!

About the only good news hear is that Haynes now do a manual :) I might buy one for making sure it all goes back properly. I'll strip it down first though as I don't need to lose another £17 if thing is totaled!

I'm a bit gutted as I'm still paying for the bike :(

Off to Deed Poll now to change my name to Killer!...This isn't the first Honda to die by my hand!
