The AA are total crap when it comes to service provided to the public and their response time is abysmal too ! I would not entertain the AA or RAC !

I have one where I arrange the recovery / assistance myself with a garage of my choice, I then pay them, get an invoice and send it to them, they then pay me back by cheque or direct into my bank via "bacs".

A couple of weeks ago I had a dead battery whilst out n' about in my Mondeo, (lights left on

) being a heavy old diesel estate it would have been impossible for me & the Mrs to "push it off" without the aid of a downhill slope. So I called a local garage, they were on scene within 15 minutes and got me started pronto. Invoiced me £54:00 inc VAT which I sent off and was paid direct into my bank account with no quibbles before I had even parted with the money to pay the garage....sorted
